Studio 163 Architects

"We have had a great experience working with Studio 163 on our home renovation and extension project. Tom led the work for us and has been approachable, thoughtful and genuinely invested throughout. He supported us with planning drawings, design ideas, technical drawings, building control, supplier introductions and problem-solving as the project developed. He listened carefully to what we wanted, but also brought ideas and practical solutions to the table that we would not have thought of ourselves. Our project has evolved and changed quite a lot along the way, but Tom has stayed engaged and clearly cared about getting the right outcome. The technical drawings and wider support have been extremely useful in helping us align builders, suppliers and other trades around the project. We are really pleased we chose Studio 163 and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a thoughtful, practical and committed architect."

"When we moved into our house in Dartmouth Park we were aware that some work would need to be done to make it our own. What we did not envisage a two-year project that would completely reconfigure the whole interior and garden. Thankfully we had an excellent pair of architects leading on the project – helping translate our initial ideas and preferences into the fantastic property we now call home. Tom and Leah were absolutely fantastic throughout the project not only designing and implementing a range of structural changes – including a unique triangular extension hosting a Pantheon-esq circular lightwell – but being a brilliant sounding board and source of ideas for a range of stylistic questions and ideas. From working with them both we have a completely different idea of what an “architect” does – with their technical expertise brilliantly combining with a great stylistic vision. We really apricated their proactive suggestions and constructive feedback on our ideas and questions, even when they went beyond the typical remit of an architect – they would be our first point of call whenever the builder/ electrician/ plumber etc would suddenly spring a last-minute question on us. Without their repeated chasing up of various contractors and suppliers the project would have taken even longer. We would 100% recommend Studio 163 to anyone hoping to develop a property with a real “wow factor.” Thank you so much Tom and Leah for all your hard work – we couldn’t have done it without you."

"Studio.163 are really easy to work with. I was the contractor on a garden project they designed. From start to finish Tom and Lea were great to deal with. Clear, well thought out plans, good communication, and everything worked well on site. Looking forwards to working with them again."

"Tom at Studio 163 has been excellent to work with from successfully achieving planning permission for our Victorian terrace extension, to now producing technical drawings for the whole project. With a small terrace, we were limited for space, but Tom has managed to create a design that meets all our needs and doesn't sacrifice beauty. Would definitely recommend."

"We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Ton and Lea on a refurbishment of an older property on the Norfolk coast. They listened carefully to us and took on our aspirations for the project. They understood what we needed and provided an amazing, supportive service throughout the works. The refurbished building looks amazing and we are delighted with it. Tom has been excellent in solving the unexpected issues which will always arise and has always been available to discuss any concerns that came up for us. Their eye for detail is exceptional and the house is finished to a very high standard because of them. We thoroughly recommend them and are happy to provide further references if needed."
